Canva has a blog template!

I've been trying to make my blog more attractive. Sleek and elegant.

Now I'm laughing to myself because that just seems silly considering my premise -- Ranching and homemaking.

So maybe I should say, Simple, easy, appealing, instead.

That works.

I spend a lot of time in Canva, and I noticed that they promote a blog template. They also will publish that template.

I pulled one up to give it a try. Link

First, I really liked how it looked. I loved the palette choices, and their fonts are amazing. Here's what I came up with for a cover page.

I love it! It's got all the elements I want in my Simple, Easy, Appealing goal.

So I moved on to an actual post.

Also love. And on Canva, I can just copy the page and keep the same elements in the same place.

There were a couple of problems.

Problem one:

I've written about before. This isn't really a blog. There is no place to comment and commenting is so crucial for blogging.

Given the issues I had blogging on GoDaddy, I have been reconsidering this. I repost multiple places, so it's possible to make the connections on FaceBook and Instagram. Still mulling that one over.

Problem two:

When I share the blog post page on social media, the first page is what you see. Bleh. That means every post will look the same. The link did click through to the blog post page, but that first page will get old on my social media accounts.

Problem three:

Each blog post is a new page! Yikes. That's a lot of pages. The menu system is a simple list across the top of the blog. (Most of these are dummy pages just so I could see what would happen with the menu.)

I did add some more dummy pages to see what would happen when the top line got full.

I like this option much better, but there is no way to scroll through the posts. You have to click on each one to view.

So, I got pretty, but perhaps too many issues for what I do.
