Labels for my crafts -- trying sublimation

As I get more and more into crafting, I want to put something personal in the items to help people remember where they came from. 

I've got my branding iron (see post). I love it! A piece of leather might work for something like a t-shirt, but I haven't picked up any leathers that aren't thicker. 

So, I've tried a few other things. 

The first one was sublimation onto the t-shirts themselves. I'm not unhappy with these, but they are a bit big. 

The top one is on cotton and the bottom one is on polyester which is a much clearer medium than the cotton. I could go smaller on the poly, but it would lose clarity on the cotton. 

I also got some twill in a 1" width to try with the sublimation. NOT at all happy with this attempt. First, it's cotton, so I wasn't at all sure it would work anyway. And it's not smooth. 

I've got another idea up my sleeve, but for the most part, this one is scrapped.
